Madikeri Fort
Madikeri Port is a fort in Madikeri, Kodagu district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It was first built by Muddu Raja in the late 17th century. This fort in Madikeri is known as Markara Fort. This fort was built by King Muddu and a palace was built inside the fort. King Muddu built this fort out of mud. Later Tipu Sultan rebuilt it from granite. In 1933 the British built the clock tower. 2 stone elephants in life type can also be seen there. The fort houses a museum displaying historical artifacts.The fort is situated on a hill 500 meters above the Madikeri bus stand.
