Basthikere

In the village of Geru Soppe in Uttara Kannada district, four-faced Jain basadis can be seen. Geru Soppe spread on both sides of river Sharavati was first known by the name of Nagar Vastikeri, Hempura. The main four-sided basadi mango can be found here. In Nagar Basti Keri you can find houses, inscriptions, basadis from the past. Chaturmukha Basadi is the main focal point in AD. Established in 1562 AD. It can be seen in history that 208 basadis were installed by the then queen Chenna Bairadevi. On the Honnavara Sagar Road, 39 km from Honnavara, you can find Nagar Bastikeri Basadi after 6 km on the dirt road that goes below the Geru Soppe Dam of the Sharavati River. The 4 tripartites of the Chaturmuk Basadi are wonderfully placed.
