Dandeli Sanctuary

Dandeli is a town in Uttara Kannada district which is situated on the banks of river Kali. Located in the beautiful green valley of the Western Ghats in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka state. It is believed that the name Dandeli is derived from the Dandelappa temple. Kannada, Hindi, Konkani, Marathi are spoken in this region. Dandeli has been identified as the seventh largest wildlife sanctuary in the state. In 2007, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve. Dandeli city is 1551 feet above sea level. It is 125 km from Goa. Dandeli has many tourist spots. There are also accommodation arrangements in private hotels for tourists to stay in this town. Dandeli has a wildlife sanctuary that attracts tourists. Tourists can enjoy trekking, boating, and many species of animals and birds here, and the best time to visit is during the super October-June months.
